TYPES OF HAIR:

The official classification of a hair strand is done through analyzing its structure, which can range from 1 (extremely straight) to 4 (extremely curly).

Within each numerical classification, there exists sub-classifications based on the hair’s texture (fine, medium, or thick), and the intensity and frequency of the curls. These sub-classifications are covered by the letter A, B, and C.

Type 1 STRAIGHT:This hair type presents absolutely no curling, and varies only in texture (fine, medium, or thick).

Type 2 WAVY: This hair type is slightly curled throughout the entire hair strand. However, the root is generally straighter than the end. The hair strands tend to form an “S” shape, without much curl definition.

Type 3 CURLY:Hair categorized as Type 3 is hair that forms multiple spirals, with closed curls that are generally more resistant to straightening treatments.

Type 4 KINKY/AFRO: This type of hair is generally very fine and very fragile.
